PROJECT IDEA

For the project we were asked to create a cyborg. Accordingly, i had to learn how could this be done by using Photoshop.

After attending to the classes in university and after my research of what cyborg is and how it could be done by using Photoshop, i started to develop my idea of what my image would be.

The first step, was to find a man to photograph him as my basic idea was to create a male cyborg. The model that i used, is a Cypriot man that exercise a lot and taking part to bodybuilding competitions. The reason that wanted a strong man was because i wanted to show the man as a machine. After photographing him, i chose the following image that i wanted to edit in Photoshop.

The next step was to use the Photoshop basic tools to remove and to improve the photograph. After removing some pimples and the tattoo on his chest i had this image ready to be edited.

The next step was to find the images that i had to use in order to create the illusion that under his broken skin, there is a machine. The images that i chose through Google are:

After applying them and editing the image i had a  wounded  cyborg man and so i had to find the perfect background that would fit to the man. At first instance i wanted to have as a background a more scientific and imaginary place however i decided that it was best to use a background that would show that cyborg could be found in our real world. At the end, i chose an underground accident theme as that fits perfectly with the cyborg. There is a broken train and a huge hole in the roof which explain why the man is standing in that way and why he is wounded. Moreover he is by himself as i wanted to show that the only survivor is a machine and not a human being. the background in the following image.

The result of applying the background to the cyborg was the following

After editing it i decided that my following image would be my final. the reason is because the colors suits better with the subject of the image. Is showing at the same time the combination of the imagination and the reality
